Opening its new Antwerp office is a logical next step for Cushman & Wakefield Belgium. The regional Antwerp real estate market has matured in the last couple of years and is the largest Flemish market today – the second largest in Belgium .
“25 years ago, the circumstances for opening an Antwerp branch weren’t quite right. But the times have changed. We’ve noticed companies are looking to open a base of operations in central cities, like Antwerp, mainly for mobility reasons. This trend has caught our eye and led us to decide to open a brand-new office in the south of Antwerp. Here, we’ll focus on the office market, together with the semi-industrial and logistics markets.”
Thanks to the Port of Antwerp, the city is an economic powerhouse for the whole Flanders region when it comes to international trade. That’s a unique position for a Belgian office location, and explains why offices in Antwerp are so sought-after.
Eric Van Dyck – International Partner & Head of Antwerp Office
The new office has already earned its first letting success. The Antwerp Cushman & Wakefield team advised the Dutch supermarket chain
Jumbo on their office let in Brasschaat, where it plans to open its Belgian administrative headquarters.
The Antwerp team will be comprised of six motivated team members who offer a valuable mix of experienced professionals and young talent, rearing to go. They are driven to do everything it takes to guide clients in their search for the perfect property .

ERIC VAN DYCK
Head of Antwerp Office – International Partner
Eric accidentally entered the real estate industry when he was 20, working for Cushman & Wakefield’s predecessor. For 27 years, he took on different roles, including CEO of Cushman & Wakefield Belgium. After subsequently working as a client manager at another real estate company for several years, he re-joined Cushman & Wakefield in February 2018, eager to make the new Antwerp branch a success.
Eric combines social skills with a human focus. He enjoys working with people and loves to see the branch succeed as a team. Needless to say, that team spirit is his top priority. As head of the Antwerp branch, he wants to be the coach that the team needs in order to be better and bolder than ever before, and to make their name the go-to for commercial real estate in Antwerp.
“Some gamechangers, like coworking and e-commerce, have had a significant impact on the market – and new developments are underway as we speak. This trend pushes us to look ahead. We want to make a difference by being each client’s partner, walking a mile in their shoes to fully understand them and be able to identify challenges even before they arise: true a-to-z customer service, no less.”
The Carolus Boromeus church is the most beautiful Antwerp building, according to Eric. Under the summer sun, it’s almost like a genuine Italian piazza. “Het Eilandje” and the museum of fine arts complete his top three of Antwerp gems.

YVES DE CLERCQ
Associate & Head of Industrial & Logistics Agency
Yves entered the real estate industry at the age of 20. After building an impressive career for over two decades, he’s ready to be one of the driving forces behind the Antwerp branch of Cushman & Wakefield. He just couldn’t pass up on the chance to put the new Cushman & Wakefield office on the commercial real estate map, as one of the Big 4. He’s looking forward to writing this chapter of the company’s history, together with the dedicated Antwerp team.
Over the years, Yves has got to know the real estate market like the back of his hand. He got the opportunity to meet the right people and forge valuable relations. With outstanding knowledge of the market, a fascination for the port industry and an excellent ability to pick up on clients’ real needs, he’s hoping to make a priceless contribution to the Antwerp real estate industry.
“The realtor trade is evolving at a fast pace, and the pace of this evolution will only increase. But even in the Internet era it remains a true people’s business, where people still make all the difference. In an industry that is so dependent on regulation in particular, trust, professionalism and an eye for detail are becoming more important by the day. That’s exactly what clients will expect from us.”
Yves is fascinated with the Antwerp port and its central role in countless industrial and logistics processes .

Senior Account Manager – Industrial Agency
Sam realized that the real estate industry was his cup of tea quite early on. During his school years, that feeling only grew and it quickly became clear that commercial real estate was his natural habitat. His thirst for knowledge, his professionalism and the positive atmosphere at Cushman & Wakefield soon drove him to come on board. He’s all set to write the next chapter of this successful real estate story, together with the rest of the team.
Sam is proud of his social personality, which allows him to easily connect and maintain great relations with clients and real estate connections. His top priorities, in the years to come, will be teamwork and strengthening ties with the market .
“More and more, the market’s evolving into a people’s business. Personal factors are becoming ever more relevant. I believe in the growing importance of social skills; they really make all the difference in this trade. I’m convinced that the right connections can contribute to successfully closing a deal.”
According to Sam, “Het Eilandje” offers a great mix of semi-high-rise buildings – such as office and residential buildings – and local bars and shops that reflect the true soul of Antwerp.

Senior Account Manager – Office Agency
Dimitri entered the real estate industry 10 years ago and isn’t planning on leaving it any time soon. After studying real estate at the Artesis Hogeschool in Malines, he learned the tricks of the trade at Jones Lang and Anker18. He sees the opening of the new office as a chance to further his expertise. He can’t wait to write the next chapter of Cushman & Wakefield’s history, filled with successes in the Antwerp real estate sector .
Dimitri is a born salesman, with a passion for commercial real estate. Guiding clients in their search for the perfect property is what puts a smile on his face. Both in his professional life as a salesperson and in his private life, communication, honesty and openness are top priorities for him. He’s really big on trust and strives to be a go-to confidant for his clients and co-workers .
“The market is evolving non-stop and new trends like coworking and new-ways-of-working are popping up everywhere. But what strikes me the most is that companies are now prioritizing accessibility more than ever. A good price for a badly located property just doesn’t cut it anymore. That’s exactly why we’re dedicated to finding the ultimate combination of location and pricing for our clients.”
The charm of Het Eilandje can woo him, with its enjoyable mix of bars, offices and waterside views.

Junior account manager office agency
Nathan graduated in June and can’t wait to join the Antwerp team. What better way to kickstart his career than to be part of the new office from the very beginning? In the meantime, he’s been spending his summers getting experience at a residential real estate company. Being part of the new office is his chance to put his expertise and skills to work. You better believe he’s driven to make a real difference.
Nathan’s a social man, a great listener who is eager to learn. That’s the best way to get to the core of client’s wishes. He’ll go the extra mile and will do whatever it takes, but without compromising his honesty towards his clients and co-workers.
“Over the last couple of years, the commercial real estate market experienced surprising changes. I believe that despite new trends such as coworking spaces, traditional office buildings for large corporations will remain an essential point of interest. The Antwerp market, set for continuous growth in the near future, is no exception.”
Nathan is looking forward to the completion of the Antwerp Tower. This centrally located tower will be a skyline landmark for many years to come.
Caroline started her career in media. Launching her own fashion brand several years later, she successfully turned her hobby into her profession. After running her fashion company for over 10 years, she decided to take a different professional path and launched into real estate. She was first the office manager of a residential real estate company for several years, before opting for the drive and ambition of Cushman & Wakefield Antwerp
Caroline boasts great sales and real estate experience from previous jobs. She effortlessly combines her insights with punctuality, organizational talent, customer focus and above all a big smile. The fact that commercial real estate is a new challenge for her only motivates her more
“I always strive to be the best at what I do – a trait I share with the Cushman & Wakefield culture.” Her goal is clear: “keeping the Antwerp office up to speed and supporting my colleagues to the full, so that they can fully focus on their jobs. And of course, doing all that without losing sight of clients’ needs.”
The area of Het Eilandje really moves Caroline. She saw the neighbourhood evolve into a charming place, packed with cosy stores and unique events. The river Schelde is also one of the many magnificent trump cards this beautiful city has up its sleeve
